Elijah Bradford Novels
After finishing my first novel, I was on a trip with my wife and parents, visiting Plymouth, Massachusetts. We were walking along the boardwalk and my dad started telling me that this would be a great place as a setting for my next novel. He suggested it could be about an ex-military guy, now retired, living in peace, but he has to come out of retirement to save the world. “Really?" I said. "Can you be any more cliché than that? Why stop at having him be a retired SEAL? Why not go a step further and make him a spy, too… retired from the CIA?” He responded with, "Yeah, that's perfect!" I was annoyed, but later that night all I could think about was how much I wanted to write a novel like that. 8 books later, it's still one of my favorite series, and Book 9 is coming soon. And to honor the idea, I built the main character around my dad.
Elijah Bradford joined the Coast Guard at the age of 17, soon becoming a member of an Elite Coast Guard Operations group. After a short stint with the Recon Marines, he was soon recruited as a Navy SEAL, where he spent 16 years. After retiring from military Special Forces, he took a job as a commander with the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Special Activities Division (SAD) of the CIA. Now, retired, he's looking for solitude and peace, but struggles to find it.
(Book I) Illicit Cargo
On an island in the Puget Sound drug crimes are up and a teenager has gone unfortunately missing. A young detective, under the direction of his savvy Captain, is determined to solve the crime. In the background of it all is the mysterious Elijah Bradford. He claims he is a retired businessman; is he trying to help the detective, or hinder his investigation? And is there more to the story than any of them know? When the investigation turns personal, everyone will have to decide who’s on whose side, and where the boundary is between following the law and doing what they believe to be right...
(Book II) On the Hunt
Sitting nonchalantly in the Capitol Farris Wheel with a parabolic microphone, an Uber driver eavesdrops on a one-sided conversation between a man and his boss, discussing payment for services rendered. Could the person on the other end of the call be the one he’s been looking for? It’s been eight months since assassins were sent to eliminate Elijah Bradford. He left them floating in the cold waters of the Puget Sound for their efforts. Now, he’s on the hunt, trying to discover who sent them. When his enemies begin to hurt the ones he loves, Elijah may need to call for help.

The country of Burkina Faso is reeling after an attack that led to the deaths of key leaders of terrorist organizations in the Sahel region of Africa, where state control is limited at best, and in many places, impotent, or altogether nonexistent. Smuggling, gang activity, and weapons, drug, and human trafficking are a part of daily life.In the middle of it all is Elijah Bradford, chasing his past and risking his future in an attempt to embrace humanity.
(Book 5.5) The Favor
The Sahelian region has been turned topsy-turvy after Major Michaud and her Special Forces command took out most of the key leaders of terrorist cells in the area. New leaders are vying for power, leaderless cells have gone rogue, and weak and corrupt governments are reeling. With a military coup on the horizon for Burkina Faso, Major Michaud and her team are treading water, trying to keep anti-terrorism activities going; but they’ve called for help.

Elijah Bradford arrives in Chicago with a ridiculously long list of suspects, and no leads. Can he solve the mystery before The Bruce gets killed? Can he solve the mystery before he himself gets killed?
(Book VI) Emergency Call
Los Zetas is one of the largest and most powerful Mexican drug cartels in the world. Due to some recent assassinations and arrests of key leaders, the cartel is in disarray, leaving an opportunity for one of the larger branches of the gang to make a play at seizing power. Francisco “El Cirujano” Arámbula is considering just such a play, when one of his teams makes an injudicious mistake, abducting five tourists. Now, those tourists face likely pain and death, while an emergency call brings two men, their only hope, on a race to save them. Can Frank and Elijah find them in time, or will their attempt result in the death of the hostages, and the rescuers?
